LEAD PASTOR MIKE WAY

Mike and Chris Way began their tenure as our pastor and wife in October 2009.  Mike grew up in the Charlevoix area and Chris, with her family, were summer residents in the Charlevoix area as well.  After living in Brighton and working in the automotive industry for 20+ years, they moved back to Charlevoix to begin a new business in 2005.  During their time in Brighton, Mike and Chris were both very active in their local church.  Mike was an elder and became an “un-official” Associate Pastor during his years in Brighton, teaching many classes and assisting with Sunday morning and mid-week services.  He held credentials through the Evangel Association of Churches and Ministries and has transferred his credentials to the Assemblies of God.  With their move to Charlevoix and the recent vacancy of a Lead Pastor at the Charlevoix Assembly of God, Mike felt God’s call that this is the time for him to move into a Lead Pastor role.  This is a very serious calling for him and one not taken lightly.  After serving as an Interim Pastor for ~15 months, in December of 2010, Mike was voted in and accepted the role of full time Lead Pastor.

Mike’s philosophy in ministry is very simple; to be the best and most effective Christian one can be through understanding that God has a plan for all of us and it isn’t limited to the 80+/- years we walk this earth.  We all are created as an "eternal" being and what we do here and now on this earth will determine where and what we will be doing for all of eternity.  When one considers this and it becomes a personal revelation, then living a well balanced “effective” Christ centered life becomes much more “relevant” and easier to do.  His mission and goal as the Lead Pastor is to teach and encourage others to see that a Christ-centered and Holy Spirit filled life is essential for a healthy and productive life on earth and offers the promise of an exciting and fulfilling eternal life thereafter.

WORSHIP LEADER: JACKIE BOOG
SOUND/PROJECTOR MINISTRY: LARRY BOOG

Jackie and Larry Boog have lived in Charlevoix since the fall of 1986. Jackie currently serves as the Worship Leader and Larry is head of the sound department and projector ministry. Both first came to the Charlevoix Assembly of God in 1992. Jackie has studied music since her early teens and although she has had no formal training in worship leading, she “studied” under the leadership of Steve and Sara Stargardt for many years. One of the philosophies the team as a whole adheres to is that worship is done for an audience of One. And the desire of this team is to keep their hearts focused on the Lord asking Him to lead them as they lead others in worship. For the glory and the honor of the King.
